I Do My Traveling In My Mind

I have always wanted to be a writer, and have written several, what I call song poems
And one day my brother, and I were talking bout all the places we had been.
And that got me thinking, and I came up with this one here,I would like to share it with you all,and see what you think of it

I Do My Traveling In My Mind
I have been in Chicago
On the coldest,winter day
And felt the warm sun of California
In the big city of LA
And felt the cool sea breeze
On my face in old Virginia
I have been to so many places
I haven’t missed very many
I spent some time down in Florida
Just watching, the girls on the beach
Then I went on to the state of Georgia
Thought I would see that famous peach
I spent some time down in Nashville
In the great state of Tennessee
Thought I would catch some stars
At the Grand Ol Opry
Then I moved on
Went out to Texas, meet a girl named Rosa
Prettiest girl,I’ve ever seen
Soon I grew weary, said this wasn’t for me
Caught a plane out to Oregon
Their big trees,I just had to see
But it was so bitter cold there
I knew it wasn’t a place for me
And I ended up back in Illinois
And left my traveling day’s behind
And now when I get weary
I do my traveling,in my mind

Wow, seriously could hear this being sung on the radio!
The theme is something everyone could relate to, as most of us don’t get to do as much traveling as we’d like.
Have you ever tried to get this published?
    HUGS!!! šŸ™‚
